Surely, it must be one of the four Tiki made by Hippolyte to curse Gauguin!!? There is drawing of it in the leaves of Hippolyte’s sketchbooks and it could be a caricature of Gauguin.
As a strange coincidence with the collective and universal unconscious that travels throughout history, we can see a resemblance with the flying head in the movie « Zardoz » by John Boorman, or with the gilded idol in the movie  « The raiders of the lost ark » by Steven Spielberg, or even with the character Modok by Jack Kirby…
